RIPCORD kind of made up the english hardcore scene between
1984 and 1988 along
with bands like HERESY, the STUPIDS and EXTREME NOISE TERROR, they were
among
the best that england had to offer at that time when the technicolor poseurs
from kings road had slowly ceased to exist. they would have loved being
a
washington d.c. (TEEN IDOLS) or boston (S.S.D./D.Y.S./JERRY'S KIDS) hardcore
band , but they were one of those epigones who could easily outrival their
paragones. their greatest recording event was the john peel session for
his
radio show on bbc1 (featured entirely on the "more songs" CD,
resp. on the
"Discography Vol.3" LP). the entire RIPCORD catalogue is available
on 2 CDs
and subject to even a vinyl reissue on 3 seperate LP albums with gatefold
sleeves in cooperation with SKULD RELEASES from renningen, the first and
second LP being available now.
