1 – In this year, 2008, the band makes its tenth anniversary and without changes in the line-up. What is the secret for you to stay together for so long? There´s so much love between the band´s members?

Jens: - It's not so much love but respect. Of course we are good friends but we also have differences.

Kai: No I don´t think there is love between us we so different caracters and I have no answer why we stay so long together. But at the time when we go on tour mostly it is very nice and sometimes I am surprised we can we stay together and sometimes we have trouble directly on the stage, it´s live.

Björn: Maybe different strong characters complement each other.

2 – Musically, you changed fully its style compared to Recharge. How was the reaction of the public/critic in front of a sound so different made by punks? The band was well received by the public in the first gigs and tours or the people thinked so much strange? I confess that when I listen first time the split w/ Wolfbrigade I thought: ”Oh fuck, it´s not possible who are the same guys”?

Kai: At the beginning a lot of people came to us and said you are fucking deathmetals and some critic said that they wanna hear some old Recharge classics but we never played these songs, we had our own move. We played concert where there were only metals and they looked at us as if we were some kind of freaks, and we had shows only for Punks and they got crazy. It is totaly mixed.

Björn: Our aim after the finish of Recharge was to make harder music, but still the same angry and concise lyrics, straight to the point.

3 – How is to be a punk in the current German society? There has been some change over the years, in which you are involved in scene, for the new generations of punks? Nowadays, how is the society attitude in face of the punk in German and/or in Europe?

Kai: Punk a threat to society? In Germany there live a lot of Punks but the scene is split, but I think it´s a problem everywhere. Here is a big antifascist, anti G8, no borders... movement and a big punkscene which like only the music and the outfit and there is no way to stay together. Why ever for me, but I don´t look like Punk, for me Punk is a threat and fight against the society and fascist attitude.

Björn: I´m now a punk for over 25 years and I still love it. Of course the scene has changed throughout all these years because society changed in general. And being over 40 years old now, I prefer enjoying a more quiet weekend with good friends in a pub rather than going out and starting a riot, like we did in the old days.

4 - Some members of the band are already involved in the punk scene for nearly 20 years or maybe more, I think. Where you, senior punks, take energy and enthusiasm to continue making noise? Do you see yourselves in activity until what age?

Björn: It´s up to every single person to decide, I don´t blame people when they stop going out to gigs, it is the feeling in their heart towards the punk idea that counts. As for myself, I still enjoy the whole punk thing, especially the punks and skins united idea since a lot has changed to good in recent years. Luckily I am able to dress like this in my jobs, I have a girlfriend who is also still into punk and we don´t have children yet, so we are free to party every weekend, and so we still enjoy this life, going to festivals, getting drunk, rather than doing any kind of family thing at the moment. Life´s too short so we still enjoy the partys!

5 - You speak that have nihilistic lyrics. What that means exactly, and how nihilism is related to the thinking way and philosophy of the band and of its members (if this is the case)??

Björn: Our lyrics are nihilistic because we want people to think about all sorts of social issues in order to question them and form their own opinion. We don´t want to preach but let people decide for themselves.

6 – What you have listen of music, lately? Bands, kinds, styles, etc…? It´s important to listen other music kinds to stimulate the creativity during the composition process?

Jens: I listen to any kind of extreme music and of course this will have influence on the composing process.

Björn: I listen to all kinds of punk music like i always did. In fact, even non-punk music can get a musical idea into your mind.

7 – What are your favourite bands and releases, past and present?

Jens: It would take to much time to name them all, there simply to many. but in the last month i listened very often to the newest Behemoth album (the Apostasy) and to a funny band called Brodequin.

Björn: My favourite bands are the early UK punk and oi! bands because this was the time when I started with punk. Bands like Partisans, Last Resort, Business, Cock Sparrer, Cockney Rejects... .

8 – What more current German bands and/or releases do you recommend to our readers ?

Kai: For me new german current bands are Dean Dirg, Bombenalarm, Guerilla, The Now Denial... I think these ones bit more important and here are so fucking many new bands that I never heard.

Björn: For people who are also open minded to streetpunk I´d recommend Guts´n´Glory and Lion Shield from Hanover.

9 – Which sounds do you most like to play live and why?

Jens: The good ones because they are good.

10 – In Brazil, German is well known for food and beers, mainly because the Oktoberfest that happens in south region of country. What your favourite foods and drinks? What the better german beers?

Jens: Indeed i prefer the typical german food like sausage, schnitzel, Frikadelle (meat balls), potatoes, sauerkraut, grünkohl and stuff like that. But i also like barbecue and fast food and also some exotic stuff like asian kitchen, arabian/northafrican kitchen, southamerican/mexican kitchen and southeuropean kitchen. i hate british and scandinavian kitchen. The best beer is becks brewed in Bremen (never drink a becks brewed in Philadelphia, its ugly shit.) but there are so many good beers in germany i like to drink i cannot name them all.

Kai: At first the Octoberfest is fucking bullshit everybody knows it but it´s shit. The beer is shit there and I think as Punk you have no fun there it is a fest for bastards.

Björn: I like Hasselröder and Lindener beer.

11 – How is the day-by-day of the band´s members? What do you do for get money? Is it hard to live or survive in Germany?

Jens: I'm a student, so i dont have much money because i work few and of course the times have become much rougher since the fucking €uro has come. We want our good old "Deutsch Mark" back. Food and gasoline has become much more expensive.

Kai: I am a student and I work mostly black low budged life.

Björn: I have two jobs in the computer branch, professionally designing websites and system administration. Although prizes have gone up, the living situation is still better than in other countries.

12 – Hannover became known in the punk world for the Chaos Day, but after the ´95 riots the event was so much limited by the police control. Currently, there is any another event that reunites a lot of punks, in the same level? The problems with the Chaos Day changed the treatment that the police gave to the local and stranger punks?

Kai: The chaos days were nice but history. Now there is no other event like this, in Germoney is a hard police repression and the cops are mostly for big events good organized. Last year the G8 was here it was funny and some good direct actions.

Björn: Although many different small interest groups have emerged within the punk scene there are still enough festivals and events to cover all sorts of musical tastes which brings people together again after all. Back then everything was more spontaneous and without the big political trigger finger that some people like the punk scene to become. Chaos days were never meant to be a political event but rather an opportunity to meet punks and skins from all around the world and to have a big party. Unfortunately the cops ruined everything, and a lot of people seem to prefer spending their free time in internet forums, talking about changing the world instead of enjoying punk life as it is.

13 – You have a video clip of the 5 Vor 12 sound and I think it very cool. I think that the punk bands should work more with DVD production, doing good videos of rehearsals, gigs, etc. What do you think about that? The recording of the 5 Vor 12 video was a good experience? Do you go to do more videos of other sounds?

Jens: We don't know in the moment.

Björn: Nowadays everyone has the opportunity to get some band material on film and publish it in the internet. The result is often boring because people don´t make the effort to sort out their material carefully in order to get a good result. Our video was semi-professionally filmed by a small film crew that are friends of ours and who offered to produce it, and they spent a lot of time with the editing. We are happy with the result, but of course you don´t always get the chance for this kind of offer.

14 – You already recorded the tracks for the so expected and promised next release? What is the current status of the recordings? The new release will is out still in 2008? What can we expect of this new stuff? The same brutal noise who we learned to love?

Jens: It has become more brutal compared to the ones before.

Björn: The new release will be definitely out in 2008, there will be an album and a split 7”, we can´t say more at the moment because we are still busy with the whole realization and coordination.

15 – Do you know something from Brazil? Caipirinha, samba, carnaval, capoeira and all this shit? Do you like to come here, dress a swim-trunks, drink some cold beers and dance some polka in the beach under a 40 oC summer sun?

Jens: Of course i know something about Brazil: you bastards fucked us up in the final of the football world championship in 2002. Thank you so much for this we will never forget this fucking day, ha, ha, ha, ha. We are still pissed by this. But more by the fact that our team played so fucking worse. Of course i would like to drink beer in the sun, but unfortunately i have no money and no time.

Kai: Yes all the shit I know. But I think in Brazil is a good punk movement too. And some good other movements like the farmers who occupy the land. But mostly I think Brazil is a poor country one step to the first world but only for the rich bastards like everywhere.
